Laona /Crandon Report morning of 2/14

Post by Fire2732 »

The following trails were covered last evening and this morning. SS4 from Otter Creek to intersection 51 at the NST2. This trail is fair to poor. The road and other straight lines are fair but icy. The swamp section just east of Margie’s Road is poor because of standing water and ground showing. On to the SS5 south of Potawatomi Road. This initial trail is fair to poor with fair sections being icy and poor along curves and inclines. Once at Forest Drive, the plowed route for logging has deteriorated to ice and bare ground until the trail resumes by Bradley Lake Road. On towards intersection 26. There are bare curves and some trail areas before 26. Once on SS3 to intersection 17. This section similar to all the others, bare corners and other minor areas. 17 to intersection 15 through the Ludington Lake area is poor, icy and bare ground. From 15 to HWY W is fair but icy. Back from 15 to Roberts Lake. This section is poor. Back to SS3 from Johnies to Laona. Fair to poor condition, corners, once along HWY8, standing water and ground. Past this from the substation to Laona, poor with basically ice and bare ground. On the NST2, from Laona to Cemetery Rd, the base is ice. Beyond there are sections of ice and standing water in various locations and specific to the trail coming to HWY O. Otherwise the trail is fair but icy. Signing off at 04:40, Scott
